Richard Mille Collaborates With Italian Football Legend Roberto Mancini To Create A Watch That Perfectly Tracks The Beautiful Game

From kickoff to overtime, Richard Mille’s RM 11-04 is made to accurately measure every single second of the beautiful game.

Luxury watchmaker Richard Mille continues its streak of collaboration with great sportsmen with its latest piece: the RM 11-04 Automatic Flyback Chronograph Roberto Mancini.

This time, the watchmaker has enlisted the help of Roberto Mancini, the coach and manager of the Italian National Team, Squadra Azzurra. Driven to take Italy to the top spot in the football world, the highly ambitious Mancini has helped Richard Mille create a chronograph that can accurately time a match.

In the beautiful game, time is a valuable resource and with just 90 minutes of play, strategy and positioning are is crucial in securing victory.

Functionally, the RM 11-04’s main task is to time the match from kick-off, breaking the match in two halves of 45 minutes as well as the measure the 15-minute extra time slot.

Pressing the pusher at 4 o’clock once actuates the flyback function and repositions the hand at 12 o’clock, ready to start the second half. If extra time is awarded, the flyback function can be reactivated so that the watch shows the 15 minutes of extra match time and up to 5 minutes of stoppage time.

All of this is crucial for a coach who must use every last minute, every second to determine the outcome of a match.

On the outside, the RM 11-04 looks absolutely fetching in with its striking blue colour, representative of the Squadra Azzurra’s team colours, on the crown, rubber bracelet and inner bezel ring.

There is also innovation to be found in the RM 11-04 as it boasts a machined carbon TPT (Thin Ply Technology) case that makes the piece feel very lightweight and extremely durable.

Take a closer look inside and it is hard not to notice the elegant skeletonised automatic winding calibre RMAC3 movement just behind the dial.

There is also a semi-instantaneous date is placed in a blue horizontal aperture below 12 o’clock with automatic adjustment for months of 30 or 31 days.

Retailing at 195,000 CHF (MYR 842,820), the RM 11-04 is water-resistant to 50 metres and has a 45-hour power reserve.
