01 CONCRETE

There’s no denying that concrete has played a significant role in the development of civilisation. Throughout history, it has been used for everything from architecture to infrastructure. Strong and durable, this composite material can be found in numerous iconic monuments around the world, which includes the majestic Pantheon that was constructed by the Romans some 2,000 years ago. Today, it is used to build massive structures like bridges, skyscrapers and superhighways. In its simplest form, concrete is a mixture of a paste composed of cement and water. This paste is then combined with other construction materials such as sand, gravel, crushed stone or slag, which will harden to form a rock-like mass.

In 2016, Hublot unleashed the Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph Concrete Jungle, which featured actual concrete elements incorporated in the bezel. Created as a tribute to New York, the timepiece was co-designed by visionary street artist Tristan Eaton.
