Since its founding by Louis Cartier in 1847, the house of Cartier has become synonymous with all things luxurious, especially in the realm of haute joaillerie. As one of the largest luxury brands in the world, it goes without saying that Cartier has high standards to, not only uphold, but also exceed year on year, and 2015 has been no exception to this rule.

Following on from the maison’s success at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in January, where it unveiled its first ever grand complication timepiece, Cartier made an even bigger impact in the French Riveria in July when it celebrated its new Étourdissant Cartier haute joaillerie collection. The collection draws its inspiration from contrasts created between light and shadow, and incorporates a combination of precious stones ranging from diamonds, sapphires and emeralds, to corals and garnets, all of which are chosen for the richness of their material and unique optical effects when illuminated. With more than 50 stunning haute joaillerie pieces being presented, this was certainly the highlight of France’s summer. However, if experience has taught us anything, Cartier is never one to sit on its laurels, and it is proving just that with the second phase of this exhibition, to be held at the Singapore Pinacothèque de Paris from 23 to 31 October. This marks the first time Cartier will be hosting a haute joaillerie exhibition of this nature in the Lion City. Here, Cartier will be showing over 600 pieces, 60 of which will be making their world débuts in Singapore in a truly unprecedented showing by the maison.

It is truly an honour for South-East Asia to have such a grand exhibition held on its shores by a brand with as rich a heritage and history as Cartier, for it demonstrates the growing importance of the region as a world-class luxury market. So, mark your calendars and prepare yourself for a week of celebration the finer things in life with Cartier. This is one event not to be missed.
