For years, the duo has collaborated with master distiller Marko Karakasevic from California’s Charbay Distillery. Unveiling the Malted Barley Series
The newest addition to the Wolves Whiskey lineup is the Lot One the Malted Barley Series. It will be available for purchase on April 6 via the brand’s official website. The series marks the first venture into American single malts by the brand. Subsequently, it is set to be a game-changer in the world of whiskey.
The Rich and Complex Lot One
Lot One is a complex blend of single malt and malted barley whiskey. Additionally,it was procured from eight to 12-barrel lots, some dating back to 2011. Karakasevic used a more traditional approach to distilling this whiskey. Using a mash bill of two-row pale malted barley and fermented it with California Ale yeast. All distilled in the same alembic pot still from Cognac, France, as his Charbay lineup.
The resulting Lot One is a blend of 11 of the 12 barrels bottled at 110 proof. Aged in virgin charred American oak from Demptos Cooperage in Napa. The barrels were charred to six different levels, and both American and Hungarian oak heads were used, resulting in a diverse flavour profile. The twelfth barrel, with a Hungarian oak head and heavy toast, will be bottled as a single barrel release at a robust 125-proof.

The release of Lot One is sure to create a buzz in the whiskey world. With its unique presentation, it is sure to sell out quickly. The whiskey is presented in a dark brown bottle with a signature sheepskin label. And strays from traditional bourbon or other American single malts. To secure a bottle, interested parties can sign up for the allocation mail list on the brand’s website. The limited Lot One single barrel will offer just 228 bottles to members.
