Each Classic Trunk is designed to fit from four, up to eight classic mooncakes in an elegantly encased faux-leather trunk ornamented with rose gold studs and clasp whilst each Swarovski® Super Mooncake Trunk is embellished with 307 finely selected Silk and Silk Shimmer Swarovski® crystals.
The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur’s traditional mooncakes are made with their classic white lotus seed paste with a single yolk and their signature 6.5-inch super mooncake with 8 yolks.
Each year the mooncake trunks take inspiration from the Astor family’s love for travel. This year St Regis revisits their founder John Jacob Astor IV’s exquisite penmanship during his many voyages across the globe.
John Jacob Astor IV used to pen letters to his mother, ‘The’ Mrs Caroline Astor.
They pay homage to his travelling stationery trunk. This the trunk is filled with quills and inks often used to pen letters to his mother, ‘The’ Mrs Caroline Astor, he would write his thoughts down in his journal whilst travelling from Egypt to France on his honeymoon, pen letters to his associates – leading up to the opening of The St. Regis New York and whilst on voyage onboard the Titanic.
