The 2025 edition of the MICHELIN Guide Kuala Lumpur & Penang features a total of 143 establishments, representing the exceptional dining scene across the two cities.
This third edition of the guide saw several notable additions, including 2 new restaurants earning the prestigious One MICHELIN Star distinction. Additionally, 12 new establishments were awarded the Bib Gourmand, while the guide also expanded its MICHELIN Selected category with 10 new entries.

Leading the list is Dewakan, the celebrated contemporary Malaysian restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. In a historic first, Dewakan has been awarded the prestigious MICHELIN Green Star, recognising its unwavering commitment to sustainable practices. This accolade complements the restaurant’s existing two MICHELIN Stars.

Embodying the pinnacle of hospitality, Mr Azmi Ahmad Kamal of the newly minted one MICHELIN Star restaurant Chim by Chef Noom has been honoured with the MICHELIN Guide Kuala Lumpur & Penang 2025 Service Award.
The MICHELIN Guide Kuala Lumpur & Penang 2025 has awarded the Sommelier Award to Mr Han Lai from the newly MICHELIN Selected restaurant Terra Dining, recognising his exceptional knowledge and passion for wine.
This year’s MICHELIN Guide Kuala Lumpur & Penang Young Chef Award goes to Mr Waymann Cheong of the newly MICHELIN Selected restaurant Lucky Hole. Leading a young and talented team, Cheong has been recognised for his ability to foster creativity and energy, boldly blending modern culinary techniques with local Malaysian ingredients.
The MICHELIN Guide Kuala Lumpur & Penang 2025 Opening of the Year Award, presented by UOB Malaysia, celebrates the remarkable debut of Molina. Helmed by head chef Mr Guillaume Depoortere, this newcomer has made an indelible mark on the local dining landscape since its grand opening in June 2024, drawing on the team’s extensive pedigree from Europe’s finest establishments to set a new benchmark of culinary excellence.
