The New Volvo EX60 Promises Class-leading 810km Range With Ultra-Fast Charging

Pure electric freedom, charged in the time it takes to grab a coffee.

Imagine driving from Johor to Penang without a second thought. Or cruising across state lines stopping only because you want to — not because your car demands it. Even a spontaneous cross-border escape into Singapore, or a longer coastal run up to Hat Yai in southern Thailand, suddenly feels effortless.

That’s the promise of the new, all-electric Volvo EX60.

With a best-in-class range of up to 810 kilometres on a single charge (based on WLTP testing standards) in all-wheel drive configuration, the EX60 goes further than any electric Volvo ever before — and further than its most recently revealed competitors. It’s not just another electric SUV. It’s a statement that range anxiety is officially a thing of the past.

A Remedy For Range Anxiety

The EX60 is designed around real life, not laboratory conditions. Volvo Cars’ engineers have optimised its range for how people actually drive every day — on highways, in cities and in changing weather.

“The EX60 is designed to be a gamechanger,” says Anders Bell, Chief Technology Officer at Volvo Cars.

“With our new electric vehicle architecture, we directly address the main worries that customers have when considering a switch to a fully electric car. The result is class-leading range and fast charging speeds, marking the end of range anxiety.”

In short, going electric no longer means compromise.

Charging That Fits Into Real Life

Long range is only half the story. The EX60 also charges faster than any electric Volvo before — in all weather conditions.

Instead of planning your day around a long charging stop, a quick coffee break is now enough. Using a 400kW fast charger, the EX60 can add up to 340 kilometres of range in just ten minutes — bringing charging times closer than ever to the speed of a traditional fuel stop.

And for added peace of mind, all EX60 customers benefit from a 10-year battery warranty.

At the heart of the EX60 is SPA3, Volvo Cars’ most advanced electric vehicle architecture to date. Designed from the ground up for electric performance, it unlocks maximum efficiency across the car’s key systems — helping the EX60 achieve a range that rivals petrol-powered alternatives.

The EX60’s rapid charging capability is powered by Volvo Cars’ new 800-volt electrical system, paired with in-house software that moves energy into the battery more efficiently while generating less heat.

Advanced algorithms developed by Breathe Battery Technologies, part of Volvo Cars’ portfolio, allow the EX60 to continuously adjust how the battery receives power. The result? Optimal charging performance in hot summers, cold winters and everything in between.

As an electric car with fewer moving parts, the EX60 also requires less frequent servicing than a conventional vehicle. Combined with its long range and ultra-fast charging, this makes it a true no-compromises electric SUV — built for drivers who want freedom, simplicity and confidence in an all-electric era.

The Volvo EX60 will be revealed globally on 21 January 2026.
