Leica Camera AG has introduced the Leica M11-P Safari, the latest addition to its prestigious Safari Edition line. This special edition continues a tradition dating back to the 1970s, known for its distinctive olive-green colour scheme and refined craftsmanship.
The M11-P Safari stands out with a top plate crafted from solid brass, finished in a durable matte olive-green lacquer, paired with a matching leatherette covering. This harmonious colour palette is complemented by silver dials and controls, contrasting beautifully against the olive body.
Enhanced Styling
The iconic red Leica dot has been deliberately omitted, replaced by a subtle silver screw, enhancing the camera’s understated aesthetic. The rear controls are finished in sleek black, while engraved details including the Leica script and “Wetzlar Germany” lettering add to its exclusive feel.
Functionally, the M11-P Safari is identical to the standard Leica M11-P, offering cutting-edge imaging performance. It features Content Credentials technology, enabling each image to be signed with tamper-proof metadata, including camera model, copyright data, and edit history. The camera boasts an impressive 256 GB of internal memory, alongside a UHS-II SD card slot, supporting DNG and JPG capture formats.
At the heart of the camera is a BSI CMOS full-frame sensor with Triple Resolution Technology, allowing photographers to choose between 60, 36 or 18 megapixels depending on their workflow needs. The rear LCD, made from scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, ensures clarity even in bright conditions.
Connectivity is seamless, thanks to Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, and USB-C, enabling quick file transfer and control via the Leica FOTOS app. Reflecting Leica’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, the M11-P Safari comes with a black carrying strap and is packaged in eco-friendly, plastic-free materials.
