Louis Vuitton And Murakami Put The Cherry On Top For Their Third Collaboration

The new collection celebrates a two-decade partnership.

Louis Vuitton Murakami CampaignLouis Vuitton has unveiled the third and final chapter of its landmark collaboration with Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami. The new collection marks the 20th anniversary of a partnership that has become one of the most celebrated in modern fashion history.

Launched globally on 10 May 2025, Louis Vuitton × Murakami – Chapter 3 coincides with the House’s 2025 Women’s Resort collection. This latest instalment is a jubilant celebration of summer, centred around Murakami’s beloved smiling Cherry motif—playful, candy-coloured characters that epitomise his signature kawaii aesthetic.

Poppy And Playful

Following the success of the first two re-edition chapters, Chapter 3 revisits Louis Vuitton icons such as the Speedy, Alma, and Capucines bags, now reimagined with bold new techniques. A fresh white Monogram colourway serves as a ‘blank canvas’, allowing for an innovative 3D-printed effect that brings the cherries to life with vivid, glossy detail.

The collection spans over 70 pieces, including handbags, summer footwear, silk scarves, luggage, and even a whimsical bicycle. Among the standout features are the newly introduced 3D Cherry-shaped heels—debuting on the Cherie raffia mule and the Lily in embroidered denim—and intricate cherry embellishments hidden in zip pulls and fasteners on the Capucines line.

Celebratory Moments

A capsule of cherry-embroidered blue denim accessories adds an ultra-collectable dimension, with limited-edition items such as the Pochette Accessoires, the Keepall 45, and summer-centric gifts like a fan and a foldable deck chair. Meanwhile, footwear is given a summery refresh, from Monogram Cherry ballerinas and platform sandals to crisp white trainers adorned with delicate cherry stitching.

To front the campaign, Louis Vuitton House Ambassador Zendaya returns, captured in a series of cinematic Mediterranean scenes by renowned photographers Inez and Vinoodh. Set against a surreal backdrop of oversized cherries, the images encapsulate the collection’s blend of high fashion, pop art, and whimsical fantasy.

With this final chapter, Louis Vuitton and Murakami reaffirm the enduring impact of their collaboration, which not only shaped early 21st-century fashion but also bridged the worlds of luxury, art, and global pop culture.
