The first edition of The Peak Malaysia’s Mavericks get-together celebrated the movers and shakers in the Malaysian business society with some 40 specially-invited guests enjoying an evening of delicious drinks, good food and wonderful camaraderie recently on August 22.
Taking place at Selangor Property Berhad’s AIRA Gallery and Show Apartment situated at Jalan Gelenggang in Damansara Heights, the night featured an intimate guest list that comprised both the up-and-coming, as well as the more noted members of the Malaysian corporate scene. These included Dato’ Chevy Beh – the founder of medical care app BookDoc, Tan Kien Eng from Publicis One Malaysia, Institute for Capital Market Research’s Datin Azleen Osman Rani, Maybank’s Head of Legal Group Global Banking Regional Delvin Kaur and Puvanesan Subenthiran, the CEO of Privasia Group.
On hand to welcome guests was The Peak Malaysia’s Editor-in-Chief, Mindy Teh. “In this world, there are those follows who take the path less travelled. In celebration of those who dare to be different, The Peak Mavericks is an event that seeks to connect and celebrate the young and dynamic disruptors who are making a difference in the country,” she went on to say in her welcome address.
Local importers of fine tipple, William Grant and Sons, helped lubricate pleasant conversation throughout the night with generous lashings of Glenfiddich Highballs (Glenfiddich 12, grapefruit & lemon peel syrup, soda water and grapefruit peel), Solero vat Glenfiddich 15 and the sublime Glenfiddich 18 – courtesy of a strategically positioned pop-up bar at the show gallery’s outdoor promenade.
Pairing nicely with the Glenfiddich was a wonderful selection of canapés featuring salmon, and various other meat toppings, that kept the esteemed company sated and happy throughout the evening’s engagement.
As the night progressed, guests mingled freely and while enjoying themselves in great company, many also hovered around a display featuring various Montblanc timepieces and accessories. These included the Geosphere, Automatic Chronograph and Bicolor Steel & Leather timepieces, as well as its infinitely trendy single gusset briefcase.
As the night progressed, guests were also taken in small groups for a personalised, guided tour of the beautifully outfitted and furnished show units of the exclusive AIRA luxury apartment development. These comprise of units sized between 2,679 to 6,383 sq ft, while the penthouses come with built-up spaces of between 6,566 and 7,730 sq ft. Incidentally, construction of the AIRA luxury apartment development is actively taking place just a short drive away along Jalan Batai in Damansara Heights.
