The Peak takes a look back at some of our cover personalities from the previous year. This time we are delving into the story of Acestar’s Chief Executive Officer Natalie Sit.
Originally from the small town of Pasir Pinji, Sit often spent most of her childhood helping her parents make dumplings for their wonton noodle store. Keen to offer her parents a better life, Sit was a hard worker and used her skills selling wonton noodles as a training ground to ramp up her sales and communication skills.
She took her first step into the IT field when she landed her first job at a small IT firm in Ipoh as an administration clerk. During her seven-year stint at the company, she realised her forte lay in providing IT solutions and services to those in the Education sector, where she could offer help as an IT services consultant to lecturers in local universities.
A real ambitious leader, she aimed to break even in the first year of Acestar’s operation. Though she has experienced plenty of ups and downs with the company, Sit has risen from the brink of failure to come back stronger than before, transforming her self from a self-employed business owner into a good leader.
