EY Master Entrepreneur Of The Year 2017 Malaysia

Adrian Ng
Group CEO, Mega Fortris (Malaysia)

We’re one of the largest security seals designers and manufacturers in the world but I’m hoping to be the largest in three years’ time! Ultimately, security seals are just a product – anyone can do it. What we had to do was be different and be innovative. I think the most important thing we have built, however, is the platform of human capital, our network that we’ve established in 20 countries so that we can serve customers at ground level. That’s the strength we have.

I’m very proud that we’ve established a multinational family. Our people come from all over the world – we speak, think and even eat differently, but we are a family. I think what we’ve achieved is a fantastic legacy.

My leadership is flat and I like engagement. We do a lot of things based on consensus, which is important as the people that we lead need to subscribe to the same vision. The respect I gain is based on the fact that we work together, not on authority. Hard work aside, entrepreneurship is also a combination of honesty, integrity and humility. These are the fundamentals that will, ultimately, translate to compassion, which defines the person that you are.
