I am currently collecting travel experiences to UNESCO listed World Heritage Sites and make it point to visit at least five new sites every year. During the recent Chinese New Year holidays, I travelled to Nepal with my family and friends, as I had heard many great things about it from my colleagues. The people of Nepal have never been ruled by foreigners, so their historical sites still retain their original religious and cultural heritage. Kathmandu also has the densest UNESCO sites in the world, including the Pashupatinath Temple, the Swayambhunath, Bouchard Stupa, Bhaktapur, Patan Durbar Square and more. The next region I intend on exploring this year is South America although I would also love to go whale watching in Hermanus, South Africa, as I missed the season by two weeks during my last visit. For me, every travelling experience feels like uncovering a time capsule filled with a multitude of sensory experiences. Not only does it allow one to envision what life might have been like back in ancient times, but it’s also an opportunity to sample the local food and wine that awakens taste buds I never knew even existed. I also enjoy visiting the various Small Luxury Hotels of the World, which manage to artfully infuse the old and the new which is something that I truly appreciate.
