Following the aftermath of what can only be described as an intense GE14, power has now shifted from Barisan Nasional – a coalition that ruled the country for the last 60 years – to Pakatan Harapan (Pakatan). We have a new/old Prime Minister in Malaysia and for the first time, a female Deputy Prime Minister.
Although this stunning victory in the elections for Pakatan was hard earned, SCMP reports that this was actually the easy part. The real challenge will be for Pakatan to now implement the policy changes they have promised the people throughout their entire campaign. The most urgent of which are the 10 promises they made to the people of Malaysia, to be implemented within 100 days of forming the government which they detailed in their manifesto.
