All the stars in Singapore’s 2017 Michelin Guide

All the stars in Singapore’s 2017 Michelin Guide

Since Malaysia doesn’t have its own, here are the Michelin-starred restaurants in our neighbours down south.

The second iteration of the Michelin Guide Singapore may have been more closely watched than the first – here’s where movements up and down the vaunted list tell the tale of a hard year’s work for many a restaurant.

This year sees a total of 38 recipients – 30 1-star, seven 2-star and a single 3-star. There was no movement at the apex – Joel Robuchon Restaurant at Resorts World Sentosa remained the only 3-starred establishment in Singapore. Waku Ghin at Marina Bay Sands picked up one more to go with its 2016 1-star, and joined an otherwise undisturbed roster of 2-star restaurants.

The most interesting developments were the 11 new restaurants awarded one star, with both Asian and Western-centric cuisines represented. This swelled the count to a total of 30, from last year’s 22. The absence of restaurants Terra and Forest in this year’s list, together with Waku Ghin’s additional star, accounts for the difference.
