The Opening Of The Millen Brings The Autograph Collection To Penang

The new property nestled along Millionaire’s Row has officially opened its doors.

A vibrant new restaurant, Lili celebrates the local flavours of Penang.

The first Autograph Collection hotel in Penang is officially open for business. The Millen Penang, situated along historic Millionaire’s Row on Northam Road, blends colonial-inspired elegance with modern sophistication. The 146-room designer hotel seeks to encapsulate the charm of the island as well as its rich heritage.

“Each Autograph Collection hotel is exactly like nothing else – each tells a truly unique story and The Millen Penang, Autograph Collection is a perfect reflection of this,” elaborates Ramesh Jackson, Area Vice President, Malaysia & Indonesia, Marriott International.

“This new opening expands our portfolio of Autograph Collection Hotels in Malaysia, reflecting the rich history of Penang through a refined and sophisticated lens.” With its promise of “A Different Penang,” The Millen Penang reimagines the grandeur of a bygone era, breathing new life into the iconic 1800s setting of Northam Road.

The guestrooms are a product of design, offering panoramic views of the Andaman Sea and the cityscape. Each room features high-quality linen fittings, marble-clad interiors, dual vanity tops, and luxurious bathtubs framed by floor-to-ceiling windows.

Guestrooms come with views of the Andaman Sea.

Centrally located in Penang’s upbeat district, the hotel is within easy reach of local eats, bars, restaurants, and lifestyle malls. Attractions such as Gurney Drive, UNESCO world heritage sites, Penang Botanic Gardens and Beach Street are also short commutes away.

In terms of amenities and facilities, The Millen houses several F&B outlets. The Lili offers Malaysian cuisine with a modern touch whilst the Good Society celebrates the beloved British tea culture. Gourmet enthusiasts can look forward to experiencing Blacklinen Restaurant, a charcoal-grilled restaurant with an extensive curated wine selection.

The Good Society serves artisanal coffees and teas alongside fresh baked pastries and cakes.

The Millen offers premier meeting and event facilities, including Upperton Hall Grand Ballroom, featuring one of the island’s longest LED screens. There’s also a 24-hour fitness centre and saltwater-treated Infinity Pool overlooking the Straits of Melaka. Slated to open later this year is the Nut&Meg Wellness Spa, which will offer treatments inspired by heritage and local ingredients.

“We’re focused on showcasing the rich culture of the destination and creating authentic, one-of-a-kind experiences for guests when they visit Penang,” explains Catherine Townsend, General Manager, The Millen Penang, Autograph Collection.
