(Video) How Much Is The Last Ferrari 250 Europa GT Worth Today?

This is the final 250 Europa GT—and it’s headed to auction.

The Ferrari 250 Europa GT wasn’t just a beautiful car. It launched a legacy. Introduced in 1954, it redefined what a Ferrari could be—graceful, powerful, and made for the open road.

This was the first road-going Ferrari to carry the now-famous Colombo 3.0L V12. It also marked a shift from track-focused machines to refined grand tourers. Fewer than 45 units left the factory. Each one helped shape the Ferrari DNA.

Now, one of them is making headlines again.

This August, the last Europa GT ever built—chassis 0427 GT—will go under the hammer at Bonhams | Cars’ Quail Lodge Auction. It’s a rare moment. Fully Ferrari Classiche-certified, this 1956 model still wears its original engine. Experts expect it to fetch over $2 million USD (~RM8.46 million).

New Engine. New Direction.

Before the Europa GT, Ferrari’s road cars leaned heavy into racing roots. That changed with this model. The Colombo V12 offered a lighter, more compact alternative to the larger Lampredi unit. It made around 220 horsepower, with a top speed near 230 km/h.

This Ferrari wasn’t just fast. It was civilised. Smooth at speed. Comfortable over distance. A car made for long, spirited drives across Europe—not just racetrack sprints.

Designed to Be Seen

Pininfarina penned the Europa GT’s lines. The design was elegant, not loud. Long bonnet, low roofline, soft curves. Chrome details hinted at wealth but didn’t overwhelm. Inside, the cabin spoke the same language. Leather seats, wood trim, and quiet refinement. It invited drivers to relax, even at speed.

Short Production. Long Legacy.

The Europa GT followed the original 250 Europa (with its Lampredi engine) and came just before the 250 GT Coupé. Its time in production was brief—about a year. But its impact was huge. It was the prototype for every Ferrari GT that came after. Think 250 GT Lusso, 250 SWB, and the legendary 250 GTO. They all trace back to this turning point.

Now, the final example ever built, chassis 0427 GT, is returning to the spotlight. Bonhams will auction it on 15 August 2025. This may be the last time a Europa GT of this calibre appears publicly.

The Collector’s View

Collectors know the Europa GT isn’t just rare—it’s foundational. It helped define Ferrari’s direction for decades. But 0427 GT? That’s more than just another example. It’s the final chapter of the original GT story.

The Ferrari 250 Europa GT taught the world what a true grand tourer could be. Fast. Elegant. Effortless. This August, the last one ever made will remind us why it still matters.
