German camera-maker Leica struck a chord with photographers when it released its highly regarded Leica SL back in 2015. It looks like the brand hopes that lightning will strike twice with the introduction of the new flagship camera the Leica SL2.
As a full-featured full-frame mirrorless camera, the Leica SL2 is everything that a serious photographer could ask for. This includes a redesigned body that features an all-metal construction that is tougher than the previous iteration and even provides better dust and weather sealing, making a robust camera you can always keep at your side.
Apart from that, the Leica SL2 gains a 47-Megapixel high-resolution CMOS sensor, increased dynamic range for capturing all the highlights and shadows in a scene as well as a wide ISO range from 50 to 50,000.
To help photographers capture the perfect image, they have a new electronic viewfinder at their disposal that is just as clear and responsive good as looking through glass. This is supplemented by an incredibly quick autofocus system that accurately detects subjects both stationary and in motion as well as in-body stabilisation that gives every lens you attach on it, a significant edge in eliminating camera shake.
The culmination of four years of development, the Leica SL2 doesn’t disappoint in terms of videos either as it offers the ability to record 4K resolution videos at buttery smooth 60 frames per second (fps) and Full HD videos at 180 fps.
In the age of social media, you will want to get your photos transferred from your camera to your phone without the need of a computer. Fortunately, Leica’s updated FOTOS app, allows you not only save your photos and videos to your smartphone but you can also visual and adjust the camera’s settings from your phone remotely.
