The Alpine region of Switzerland is well known for its diverse landscapes ranging from fresh meadows, bare icy mountain scenery and sunny villages. Imagine being able to experience those amazing views from the comforts of a train. That is exactly what those on board the new Goldenpass Express trains designed by Italian design house Pininfarina for the MOB (Montreux Oberland Bernese) railway company.
Indeed, it will be a dream come true for tourists visiting Switzerland to see when the new Goldenpass Express goes into service on 13 December 2020. With the new train, it will connect the Swiss cities of Montreux, Gstaad and Interlaken, all main tourist destinations.
In designing the trains, the new Goldenpass Express maintains new safety standards as well as a large window that provides a frontal view to admire the vast expanse of Alps. The windows also eliminate reflections so travellers are able to take clear pictures of the magnificent views without worrying of reflections or glare.
According to Pininfarina, the objective of creating the new design for the train was to offer an immersive travel experience that is in total symbiosis with the beauty of the surrounding nature.
