The Adnate, Accor’s 9th Art Series hotel, has opened in Perth. The striking $90 million landmark hotel promises to inspire guests with the art of dreaming big and, true to its word, a monumental artwork spanning 25 storeys decorates its exterior. This colourful mega mural features three large-scale portraits by renowned Australian wall street artist Matt Adnate, and it is the tallest mural in the Southern Hemisphere.
The 250-room hotel stands adjacent to Perth’s luxury and lifestyle destination of King Street in the city centre. However, its uniqueness lies in how it focuses on Perth’s cultural history and community, by breathing art into many aspects of the hotel design.
Besides the awe-inspiring facade mural – which includes the face of a Noongar man, an Indian woman and a Mediterranean woman, all created with spray paint in a month – a spectacular 50m-long mural adorns an adjacent laneway.
Other works by the Australian namesake artist Adnate, who is a powerful multicultural portraitist, characterise the 27-storey space. Just to mention a few: a large-scale mural above the main staircase welcomes guests, and 650 giclee prints adorn the interiors.
The Adnate also hosts a gymnasium and the Miami-style Hyde Kitchen + Cocktails, which hugs a centrepiece feature, an outdoor heated pool area, on Level One.
Signature art experiences at The Adnate also include the brand’s famous art tours, and in-room art channels and art libraries to get up close and personal with Adnate’s work. Branded courtesy cars and Lekker bicycles will be available to explore all that Perth has to offer and farther afield.
The Adnate is located at 900 Hay Street, Perth WA 6000.
