If you are looking to take the road less travelled, you may look no further than this unique travel experience – a pop-up North Pole Igloo Hotel that will only be open for one month in 2020.
The travel agency behind this bold idea is nonother than Luxury Action from Scandanavia. The idea behind the experience was to build the northernmost hotel in the world, so visitors can truly and literally say they have stayed on top of the world.
So what can you come to expect for such a trip? For one, you will travel in comfort via a two-hour helicopter ride from Svalbard, an archipelago between Norway and the North Pole, to the hotel site which consists of 10 heated igloos.
Each of the portable igloos will have glass walls and ceilings that allow guests to comfortably watch the magically northern lights shimmer across the Arctic sky at night. Rest assured, Luxury Action has previously tested the igloos under extreme arctic weather conditions.
As the North Pole is difficult to access due to unpredictable and harsh weather conditions for most of the year, the only period of time open for visitors is in April when temperatures are more manageable at minus eight degrees at night.
For MYR438,896 (€95,000), guests will enjoy chef services, security and an arctic wilderness guide should you feel adventurous and want to explore the North Pole.
