The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will take over the management of the iconic Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from Jan 1, 2020. The iconic hotel will be the group’s second in the UAE, following the opening of Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai, in early 2019.
The luxury five-star accommodation will remain open but see a phased renovation over two years, and will be rebranded as a Mandarin Oriental property. The renovation works will include significant upgrades to guest rooms and recreational amenities, as well as involve the creation of food and beverage facilities.
The Emirates Palace hotel sits on a 1.3km private beachfront, and has 394 guest rooms and suites, 12 restaurants and bars, 40 meeting rooms, a concert-grade auditorium and a ballroom that can accommodate up to 2,500 people. Leisure facilities include a marina, two swimming pools, a spa and two fitness centres.
The property is conveniently situated for both leisure and business travellers in the heart of the city, with the Grand Mosque and the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre just a short drive away. There’s easy access to the commercial centre of the city; in addition, the Marina Mall is located nearby. The Emirates Palace is 40 minutes away from Abu Dhabi International Airport and 90 minutes from Dubai Airport.
The hotel property is owned by Emirates Palace Company, a subsidiary of the government of Abu Dhabi.
