A young and bustling city, Christmas and New Year’s celebrations are always a vibrant event. Look out for the Christmas decorations all over the city, especially in the commercial centres as mall try to outdo each other for the best decor of the year. If you’re travelling with children, book a room in the Lotte Hotel World and drop by Lotte World theme park to experience the winter activities before enjoying a view of the Lotte World Tower New Year’s Day fireworks, located right next to the theme park. If you’re travelling without children, you can also choose to party the last night of the year away at Seoul’s annual Final Countdown Party, an indoor music festival that features some of the world’s top EDM and hip-hop artists to help you start the New Year off on a high. Wind down from the party by watching the sunrise on New Year’s Day, a Korean tradition, so head over to Heukseok-dong Park where an observatory deck will give you a breathtaking view of the sunrise featuring the Han river and some of Seoul’s famous landmarks.
