In a high-octane fusion of Hollywood glamour and motorsport precision, Mercedes-AMG has unveiled a limited-edition model inspired by the upcoming Formula 1 blockbuster F1, starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris. The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ APXGP Edition broke cover during the recent Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, setting the tone for a landmark collaboration between cinema and automotive engineering.
The film, set for international release beginning 25 June 2025, blends real-life Grand Prix footage with a gripping fictional narrative centred around the APXGP racing team. As an official promotional partner of Apple Original Films and Warner Bros. Pictures, Mercedes-AMG played a pivotal role in bringing F1 to life, contributing expert motorsport know-how, high-performance vehicles, and even the official FIA F1 Safety and Medical Cars.
The film F1, directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), sees Brad Pitt return to the racing world as a former driver mentoring a young talent, played by Damson Idris. The ensemble cast includes Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo. Produced in collaboration with the real F1 community, including ten official teams and drivers, the film promises an unprecedented blend of authenticity and adrenaline.

Strictly limited to just 52 units, the APXGP Edition Mercedes-AMG stands as a collector’s dream. It features a bespoke livery mirroring the fictional APXGP team’s car from the film, complete with hand-applied race gold accents on the grille, front wings, side skirts, and diffuser blade.
The striking 21-inch AMG forged wheels are also finished in matte race gold, contrasting dramatically with the ceramic high-performance brake system’s black calipers. Powered by a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine delivering 430 kW (585 hp), the AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ combines visceral performance with everyday practicality.
