At the Beijing Auto Show 2026, DENZA—the design-led premium marque from BYD—revealed the production-ready version of its Z all-electric supercar. More than a continuation of its earlier concept shown in Shanghai, the Z signals a clear and ambitious statement: DENZA intends to compete at the highest level of performance and design.
Developed under the direction of renowned designer Wolfgang Egger, the DENZA Z enters the rarefied segment of open-top hypercars, where emotional design meets extreme engineering. The production model arrives as a convertible with a retractable soft-top roof, embodying the brand’s “Pure Emotion” philosophy—where aesthetics and aerodynamics are seamlessly integrated.
Electrifying Statement

The Z’s silhouette is defined by precision and restraint. Carbon-fibre surfaces flow into sculpted aerodynamic channels, while discreet bonnet ducts optimise airflow and generate downforce at high speeds. Every line serves a function—nothing is ornamental.
This design approach reflects a balance between performance engineering and understated luxury, positioning the Z as both a visual and technical statement.
Beneath its sculptural exterior lies a newly engineered architecture focused on rigidity, weight optimisation, and efficient packaging. This platform enables the car to deliver extreme performance without compromising structural integrity.
With output exceeding 1,000 horsepower, the DENZA Z accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under two seconds—placing it firmly among the world’s fastest electric supercars.
At the core of its handling is the DiSus-M system, an advanced magnetorheological suspension technology that adapts in real time. It continuously adjusts damping forces to maintain stability and precision across varied driving conditions, from racetrack performance to long-distance touring.
From Track Testing To Global Stage

Energy is supplied by BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, paired with FLASH ultra-fast charging technology. This combination not only supports high-performance driving but also enhances everyday usability—positioning the Z as a potential grand tourer as much as a track-focused machine.
Prototype models have already undergone rigorous development at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, one of the most demanding circuits in the world. The car is set for its dynamic global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a showcase synonymous with automotive excellence and spectacle.
In a unique move, DENZA has also invited the public to suggest names for its three variants—Standard, Convertible, and Track—adding a layer of community engagement to the model’s rollout.
Challenging The Establishment

As it enters the upper echelon of the automotive world, the DENZA Z takes aim at a segment traditionally dominated by European icons such as Porsche and Maserati.
With its fusion of design-led thinking, electrified performance, and intelligent systems integration, the DENZA Z is more than a new model—it represents a strategic move to help define the next era of the supercar.
