Peak’s Selection: Belle Époque Rosé

Year: 2013

Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque champagnes are a wonderful expression of the art of the village, which the house had perpetuated since 1811. These rare and precious sparkling wines are produced in limited quantities. Like all vintage champagnes, Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque Rosé 2013 has its personality. Glasses of wine paired with local delicacies in a warm ambience will be turned into a dinner for two.

2013 was a year when the seasons were atypical. This wine is original because it is not what you expect from rose champagne. Its colours are very distinctive. Depending on the year, the selection of grapes starts from different terroirs to minimize the presence of tannins. That allows the floral nuances of this delicate, alluring champagne to be revealed. Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque Rosé 2013 has delicious aromas of strawberry and peony, as well as tangy kumquat and white currant.

Tasting Notes: On the palate, pink grapefruit and mandarin combine with the sweetness of brioche. This wine has subtle notes which develop the palate. Its texture-dense yet delicate – reminds the drinker of a ranunculus with a beautiful pale pink colour.
