Ryuichi Sakamoto, a celebrated artist, composer, musician, and long-time Krug Lover, has created a musical masterpiece in tribute to the House of Krug.  Putting his tasting impressions of three Krug Champagnes from the year 2008 to music. “Suite for Krug in 2008” – the result of a creative musical journey that began in 2019, is a symphony inspired by three Champagnes crafted around the harvest of an exceptional year: Krug Clos du Mesnil 2008Krug 2008, and Krug Grande Cuvée 164ème Édition.

Start your evening with a Classical Krug Champagne,  structured freshness and diverse flavours are balanced from a single grape variety. Nicknamed “Classic Beauty,” Krug 2008 is the elegant and intense story of a cool and balanced year. Krug Grande Cuvée 164ème Édition is the recreation for the 164th time, of the most generous expression of Champagne. It exudes a generosity of flavours and aromas in blending 127 wines from 11 different years, the oldest from 1990 and the most recent from 2008.

Tasting Notes: It is pure, silky, and inviting. The Krug Clos du Mesnil 2008 displays elegance, length, distinction, and a delicately chiselled structure. Krug 2008 exhibits both power and elegance. Beautiful richness on the palate is Krug Grande Cuvée 164ème Édition, it’s well-balanced, and the finish is clean and long.
