Capella Bangkok, perched along the banks of Thailand’s iconic Chao Phraya River, has claimed the No.1 spot on The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2024 list, rising from its previous position at No.11 last year. The hotel also earned the honour of being named Asia’s Best Hotel for 2024.

Since its debut in 2020, Capella Bangkok has redefined luxury by merging contemporary architecture with verdant gardens. Each of the 101 rooms is designed to maximise river views, while select villas and suites feature serene private pools that invite relaxation. What’s more? The celebrated Auriga spa offers a peaceful escape for rejuvenation, and the dedicated ‘Capella Culturalists’—personal butlers with in-depth knowledge of the city—are ready to create bespoke experiences that allow guests to dive deep into the local culture.

Passalacqua, which held the top position in 2023, now claims the second spot on the list. Nestled in an 18th-century villa amid breathtaking terraced gardens on the shores of Lake Como, this hotel has also received the prestigious Carlo Alberto Best Boutique Hotel Award 2024.

Securing the No.3 position is the impressive Rosewood Hong Kong, situated in the vibrant Victoria Dockside arts and design district. All 413 rooms within the 65-storey tower strike a balance between two worlds: understated bedrooms offering sweeping views of the city, and marble-clad bathrooms that exude the timeless luxury of a bygone era.
