Bali is always an exciting destination. This time round we had the pleasure of staying at The Avani Seminyak Bali Resort.

After landing at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali, I immediately hopped on a cab and 30 minutes later, arrived at my destination. The Avani Seminyak Bali Resort is rather secluded behind 2 commercial buildings. Which gives it extra privacy for a quiet getaway.
This is rather common in Bali, where a small lane from a main road would normally lead inside to a huge hotel or resort vicinity, away from prying eyes. What may look like a narrow passage, then opens up to an impressive property.
A friendly smile at the check-in counter greeted me, and I was handed a refreshing detox juice. This was rather comforting as my flight that day was delayed by four hours, and by the time I arrived at the hotel, it was close to midnight. Even during the wee hours of the night, the service was exceptional. I was immediately taken to my room, and the staff helped me with my luggage.
The hotel opened in 2012 and has 37 rooms. One of the signature services of Avani Hotels which I experienced in Avani Goldcoast Sepang is also evident here, which is the buggy ride straight to your hotel room. I was driven thru the long narrow walkway filled with bamboo trees and lush greenery on both sides. The hotel’s resort-style decor really got me in the mood for a holiday.

Avani Seminyak Bali Resort- Feels like home
I stayed in the One Bedroom Terrace Suite with Balcony. The room is spacious and the comfortable space feels like a home away from home. What caught my eye was the artsy decor, with rustic and modern trimmings. Urban art pieces adorned the walls, giving the room a stylishly cool ambience.
One can choose between a room with a king-sized bed, or two twin beds. The room has all the amenities of an apartment. A master bedroom, kitchen, dining table and living room. From a big-screen TV facing a plush sofa, great for relaxing or catching up with some work. The bedding is crisp and comfortable. The bathroom came complete with fluffy towels, top-of-the-line toiletries, and a separate shower and bathtub.

A relaxing quiet getaway
The best part of the room has to be its spacious balcony. Featuring a couch to laze about, and a round dining table for breakfast. The balcony provides the perfect setting to enjoy the spectacular views of surrounding Seminyak while you enjoy a sunny outdoor breakfast. It is also worth noting that there is excellent and uninterrupted Wi-Fi access, making it easier for guests to be connected to the world.
What was interesting was the self-service laundry room open 24 hours a day, where guests can wash and clean their clothes. The facilities at Avani are bountiful. There is a swimming pool beside the open-air restaurant for you to take a dip in on a hot sunny day. This is coupled with a fully-equipped gym, which encourages a healthy lifestyle even when on holiday.

As the sun sets in Bali, a cocktail at the cosy lounge overlooking the garden is something that shouldn’t be missed.
An array of spa treatments that can be enjoyed while taking a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. This promises an invigorating and refreshing experience unlike no other. Guests can also take advantage of the hotel’s concierge services and make the most out of their stay in Bali.

I ordered the in-room breakfast which came with generous portions of scrambled eggs, hash browns, sauteed mushrooms, french toast, and pastries together with fresh fruits, juice and a cup of aromatic coffee. A great start to the day.
The food served at Avani Seminyak is of gourmet quality. The restaurant has a selection of international and local cuisines such as Italian, Indonesian, Chinese and many more. Guests can also try local traditional Balinese dishes that are sure to give an insight into the region’s rich culture. I recommend satay and nasi goreng.
