Like it or not, the auto industry is on the cusp of a revolution. Ride-hailing services and driverless tech are redefining the ways we think about mobility, the driver’s experience and car ownership. Enter one carmaker’s vision of participating in that future, outside of pure manufacturing.
Audi Singapore has launched its Audi on Demand programme, which is essentially an elite rental service with the option of having one of the continental cars delivered to, and picked up from, your abode. Rental duration can span anywhere from four hours to 28 days, and full chauffeur services can be arranged.
The service has already been rolled out in Hong Kong, Beijing, San Francisco, Munich and Manchester, and there are plans to continue its expansion in other regions (we wonder how this service will do in Malaysia). And when autonomous cars get the green light to hit the roads, the German carmaker’s ready to hop right in – it’s already showcasing the AI capabilities of the A8, which has among the most advanced driverless technology aboard cars currently in production.
