Volvo leads Malaysia’s Biggest Padel Tournament
Between the pulsating cadence of an exhilarating competition, to the shared adrenaline of each point won or lost, and the joy of strangers becoming teammates, there is nothing quite like a community-based sport transcending the ranks, to bring family and friends closer and essentially, being a part of something bigger.
The Volvo Padel Open 2025 wrapped up its second edition with a grand finale on 27 July at Joy Division Padel 2 in Petaling Jaya, delivering six weekends of high-octane action, community spirit, and fierce competition that reaffirmed its place as the largest padel tournament in Malaysia.
This year’s edition drew more than 416 participants across three categories—Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced, with 160 newcomers stepping onto the court for their first taste of competitive padel. Twelve champions ultimately rose above the rest, each earning trophies, exclusive lifestyle prizes, and Volvo merchandise in celebration of their triumph.
Top padel clubs Joy Division Padel, Padelground, and PadelKu collaborated to host the tournament, with strong support from partners including Coca-Cola Malaysia, Tactical Padel, Directors’ ThinkTank, and REGEN Physio & Sports Rehab. And, with over RM180,000 worth of prizes at stake, winners walked away with not just bragging rights, but also premium Tactical racquets, electric Volvo experiences, and complimentary court time.
Consequently, in order to ensure fair game across the playing field, beginner and intermediate players were assessed by professional coaches, whilst free coaching clinics helped prepare newcomers for their qualifying matches. This unanimous yet highly executive attention to skill development, was indeed what fostered the clamorous competitive rhythm and inclusive spirit, thus setting the groundwork for a thrilling weekend finale.
Beyond the Tournament: Movement of Sport and Community
The Grand Finals gathered over 450 attendees: players, families, and spectators alike, cheering through nail-biting matches and emotional wins, as players bested the odds.
Among the standout champions were Omar Abd Aziz and Khairil bin Anuar (Beginner Men), Ng Suhan and Nadia Syafiq (Beginner Women), and Aidan Khairuddin Yunus with Andreas Falk Bjerrehus (Advanced Men). Each match was a showcase of grit, camaraderie, and undeniable passion.

It’s inspiring to see players of all ages and backgrounds forge new friendships on and off the court.”

With trophies raised and the courts falling silent, the Volvo Padel Open proved that beyond its capacity as a tournament, the platform is foremost an intentioned movement, championing sport, community, and lifestyle equally.
