January saw the opening of the first mono-brand store from Poltrona Frau in Kuala Lumpur in partnership with Stanzo Italia. This is part of the brand’s ongoing retail expansion in the Asia Pacific region with new boutiques slated to open in India, Vietnam and Australia.
The Kuala Lumpur space spans two levels with key design features designed by the multidisciplinary creative studio AMDL CIRCLE, under the direction of Italian architect Michele De Lucchi.
Glass and metal feature in harmony throughout the boutique. The metal Exhibition Wall displays objects from the Beautilities Collection (home complements and accessories) and a passage arch with a metal finish, and metal and glass separating elements add a contemporary and elegant element to the store.
There’s also the Material Library, which has been designed as a haute couture atelier. Nearly organised on sleek black metal shelves, guests are invited to touch and feel the materials, offering tactile experiences that allow the freedom of personalisation.
Two types of flooring combinations—ceramic and wood—and decorative geometric elements on the walls of the store in rich colour tones chosen by De Lucchi such as Sage Green, Steel Blue, and Rust enhance the visual experience while shopping.
As for the products, a curated selection of Poltrona Frau items can be found including iconic armchairs such as the Archibald, 1919, SanLuca, and Dezza, as well as the Get Back and Let It Be sofas. More recent launches are also available, along with elements from the Duo Collection, co-created by Poltrona Frau and Ceccotti Collezioni and designed by Roberto Lazzeroni, expressing their synergy through a shared design vision.
Products from Poltrono Frau’s Ceccotti Collezioni are also displayed here, marking the first time this iconic brand is showcased in Malaysia. A unique company based in Cascina, Tuscany, Ceccotti Collezioni is recognised worldwide for its craftsmanship and expertise in woodworking. It was acquired by Poltrona Frau in 2018 to complement the artisanal leather with solid woodwork.
