E1 Series To Bring Sustainable Motorsport To Iconic Coastal And Lakeside Locales

Check out the world’s first all-electric boat racing championship.

The UIM E1 World Championship, the world’s first all-electric race boat series, is rapidly establishing itself as one of the most innovative sporting events on the global stage — combining high-speed competition with environmental responsibility and cultural appeal.

Designed to promote sustainable marine mobility, the E1 Series features foiling electric race boats competing in some of the world’s most iconic coastal and lakeside cities, including Monaco, Lake Maggiore, and Miami. With a seven-race calendar in 2025, the championship is positioning itself as a next-generation motorsport — clean, inclusive, and infused with entertainment.

Each team in E1 is co-led by prominent figures from sport and entertainment, with team owners including Tom Brady, Virat Kohli, Rafa Nadal, Steve Aoki, and Didier Drogba. Notably, every race team includes one male and one female pilot, with talent drawn from across the worlds of motorsport and powerboat racing. The series also has a strong community focus, with teams participating in local ocean regeneration efforts wherever the championship races.

Beyond the racetrack, E1 has created a platform that blends competition with cultural experiences. Its premium hospitality space, the Ocean Club, offers curated food, drink, and music to complement the race atmosphere, aiming to appeal to both traditional motorsport fans and a new generation of eco-conscious audiences.

As part of its 2025 season, E1 has announced a partnership with Bombay Sapphire, which becomes the championship’s Official Gin Partner. The collaboration aligns with E1’s emphasis on sustainability and immersive, lifestyle-driven experiences. Bombay Sapphire will also support the Blue Impact Championship — a key initiative that promotes marine conservation and ecosystem restoration at each race location.

Rodi Basso, E1’s founder and CEO, said the partnership is a testament to the growing commercial interest in electric racing and its values. “E1 is more than a race — it’s a movement for sustainable change,” he said. “We’re building a sport of the future that’s exciting, equitable and designed to make a positive impact.”
