Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Monday announced an additional RM40 billion-ringgit stimulus package, as the stricter lockdown measures began to curb the spread of COVID-19. The package includes an RM5 billion-ringgit fiscal injection, Muhyiddin said in a televised address.
Dubbed the Strategic Programme to Empower the People and Economy (Pemerkasa) Plus, this will aim to increase the capacity of public hospitals to treat COVID-19 patients, to support continuity of businesses and to help the people.
