These New Bell & Ross R.S. 18 Chronographs Are Built To Indulge Your Need For Speed

Gentleman, start your engines.

When it comes to pairing fast cars and complicated watches, the consensus is ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’. And so, for the third year running, the French watchmakers, Bell & Ross, have decided to team up with the French Formula One team, Renault Sport, this time offering three different limited edition references.

The watchmaker’s partnership with the Renault Sport team started back in 2016, when Bell & Ross were pushing out of their Aviation-based stronghold into the realms of land and sea. According to Bell & Ross: the “Renault Sport Formula One Team and Bell & Ross are on the same quest for excellence, striving for speed and mechanical precision.” And thus their partnership began.

This year all three limited edition variants of the Bell & Ross R.S. Collection are, naturally, chronographs and take the chassis of a Formula One car as their inspiration. As you will notice, the cases of all three watches are made from titanium and have been given a microblasted finish giving it a decidedly modern look. Also upon closer inspection, the perforation on the case really give the watch an impression of being an engine block (the square shape definitely helps too).

Of course the Renault Sport colour scheme is noticeably incorporated throughout the watch’s aesthetics and even the chronograph is activated through rocker pushers that closely resemble the gear paddles on an F1 car steering. Each of these watches will come with a specially made, perforated rubber strap that might just be the perfect fit for those hot days on the racetrack.
