ZENITH has been recognised once again for its expertise in precision watchmaking. The G.F.J. took home the Chronometry Prize at the 25th Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), an award that celebrates the most accurate and technically impressive watches of the year.
Named after ZENITH’s founder, Georges Favre-Jacot, the G.F.J. continues the brand’s long tradition of excellence in chronometry. At its heart is the Calibre 135, a legendary movement that has earned more prizes than any other in the history of chronometer competitions.
An Exercise In Classicism

For ZENITH’s 160th anniversary, this historic calibre has been carefully updated to meet modern standards, keeping the spirit of the original while offering features like an oversized balance wheel, a Breguet overcoil, a stop-second mechanism, and a 72-hour power reserve. The movement is COSC-certified, ensuring top-level accuracy while staying true to ZENITH’s heritage.

The watch itself combines technical sophistication with classic style. Its 39 mm platinum case houses a deep lapis lazuli dial, dotted with golden inclusions reminiscent of a starry night. The subtle “brick” guilloché motif around the dial is inspired by the facade of ZENITH’s historic Manufacture in Le Locle, linking the design to the birthplace of the brand’s precision legacy.
Precision And Craftsmanship

“Few movements in watchmaking history have defined precision like the Calibre 135. Reinterpreting this legendary calibre with care and respect has been a privilege for our teams. Receiving the Chronometry Prize is a meaningful recognition of both our heritage and our commitment to excellence,” said Benoît de Clerck, CEO of ZENITH Watches.

The GPHG, often described as the “Oscars of watchmaking,” honours the finest creations in Swiss horology each year. The 25th edition, held at Geneva’s Bâtiment des Forces Motrices, brought together watchmakers, collectors, and journalists from around the world to celebrate artistry, innovation, and technical skill.
With the G.F.J., ZENITH bridges its remarkable history with modern precision, creating a watch that’s not only technically outstanding but also beautifully wearable. It is a fitting tribute to more than 160 years of watchmaking excellence.
