As one of the world’s foremost luxury watch brands, Richard Mille has long been synonymous with pushing the boundaries of haute horlogerie. Its calling card has consistently been the ability to marry cutting-edge innovation with sculptural design.
The launch of two new variations of the RM 30-01 represents not merely an evolution, but a refinement in chronometric performance, visual identity, and ergonomic experience.
PRECISION AND POWER

Richard Mille RM 30-01 in Black Ceramic.
At the heart of both editions lies the RMAR2 calibre — an automatic movement developed around a groundbreaking concept: a declutchable variable geometry rotor. This patented innovation, a hallmark of the brand’s forward-thinking watchmaking, automatically disconnects the rotor when the power reserve reaches 55 hours.
By preventing overwinding, the system allows the barrel torque to maintain an optimal torque-to-power ratio. Once the reserve drops below 40 hours, the rotor seamlessly re-engages, ensuring consistent performance without wearer intervention.
This intelligent regulation of the RM 30-01 Automatic with Declutchable Rotor reaffirms the maison’s uncompromising approach to form and function. The state of energy flow is visible via the clutch engagement indicator at 11 o’clock — a technical detail that reflects Richard Mille’s philosophy of making even the most complex mechanics intuitively accessible.
TWO DESIGNS, ONE VISION

The RM 30-01 Automatic personifies sculptural design at its finest.
While the engineering remains constant, the two new RM 30-01 editions deliver distinct aesthetic statements, each showcasing the brand’s relentless pursuit of technical and visual harmony. These additions join existing variations in red gold, titanium, and white ceramic.
The Black Ceramic model combines ceramic with Carbon TPT®, creating depth and contrast through layered textures. The Dark Blue Quartz TPT® version is crafted entirely from coloured TPT® (Thin Ply Technology), offering a bold yet refined visual presence. Both models retain Richard Mille’s signature tonneau-shaped case — a design language that has evolved over time yet remains unmistakably tied to the brand’s identity.
PERSONALITY AND PURPOSE

Richard Mille RM 30-01 Dark Blue Quartz TPT®.
Beyond materials, the RM 30-01 features a reimagined skeletonised dial. Departing from the softer curves of earlier designs, it embraces a diamond-based geometry that creates graphic balance and controlled dynamism.
Grade 5 titanium bridges and baseplate enhance structural depth, while coloured transfers highlight key indicators. An oversized date window and function selector positioned above contribute to a cohesive and highly legible design.
A subtle yet ingenious pusher at 2 o’clock activates the function selector, enabling seamless switching between Winding (W), Date correction (D), and Hand-setting (H) modes. The result is an intuitive interface engineered for everyday practicality — another demonstration of how Richard Mille fuses complex mechanisms with ergonomic clarity.
The RM 30-01 represents the culmination of Richard Mille’s two-decade journey redefining high-performance watchmaking. In Black Ceramic and Dark Blue Quartz TPT®, the latest iterations embody that spirit — offering masterful chronometric regulation through their declutchable rotor system, alongside a visual language that balances aggression with elegance, complexity with control.
