Piaget And The Andy Warhol Foundation Unveil The ‘Collage’ Watch

A limited-edition tribute to a creative icon.

After announcing their partnership in late 2024, Piaget and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts now reveal the Andy Warhol Watch ‘Collage’ Limited Edition — a striking reinterpretation of the iconic timepiece once worn by the Pop Art legend himself. Limited to just 50 pieces, this exclusive creation blends Warhol’s bold artistic vision with Piaget’s heritage of fine watchmaking and craftsmanship.

Piaget has long drawn inspiration from the arts, with over 150 years of creating jewellery and timepieces that bridge the worlds of design, culture, and precision engineering. Among its celebrated collectors was Andy Warhol, who famously amassed more than 300 watches in his lifetime — seven of which were Piaget creations. Most iconic among them was the cushion-shaped reference 15102, a 45mm timepiece Warhol acquired in 1973. Designed by Jean-Claude Gueit and produced in limited numbers through the 1970s, the model would later become known as the Black Tie.

A Tribute To An Artist

To mark the deepening of their partnership, Piaget and the Foundation have reimagined this design in a form that channels Warhol’s singular creativity into the contemporary era. The ‘Collage’ Limited Edition draws direct inspiration from one of Warhol’s 1986 Polaroid self-portrait collages, interpreting its colour and composition through the lens of haute horlogerie.

At the heart of the piece is a mesmerising dial crafted using the ancient art of marquetry, an ornamental technique rarely seen in modern watchmaking. The base is set in polished black onyx — a direct reference to Warhol’s original 1973 timepiece — and inlaid with slices of vibrant pink opal, green chrysoprase, and yellow Namibian serpentine. These gemstone fragments form an abstract yet deliberate composition, echoing Warhol’s unique take on self-image and artistic repetition.

The dial is framed by a stepped 45mm case in 18-carat yellow gold, a metal chosen in homage to Warhol’s original watch and exclusive to this edition. A rich green leather strap complements the palette, lending depth without overshadowing the artwork.

Pop Culture Meets Horology

Inside, Piaget has fitted its ultra-slim, in-house 501P1 automatic movement, offering a 40-hour power reserve and refined with circular Côtes de Genève. The caseback, also in 18-carat yellow gold with a satin-brushed finish, bears an engraved rendition of the 1986 self-portrait, along with Warhol’s signature and the Piaget logo.

For Piaget’s Artistic Director Stéphanie Sivrière, the challenge was to honour Warhol without resorting to cliché:

“With such a rich body of work, it was tempting to reference the obvious — the banana, the soup can, Marilyn. But we wanted to suggest rather than show. The result is a piece that feels authentically Warholian, while firmly rooted in Piaget’s world.”

Elegant, expressive and deeply collectible, the Andy Warhol Watch ‘Collage’ Limited Edition is not just a tribute — it’s an objet d’art, connecting two worlds driven by bold vision, craft, and creative legacy.
