CORUM ADMIRAL 45 SQUELETTE
We’re sure that everyone can agree that Corum’s Admiral collection is worthy of admiration. And it seems that the brand’s designers have a fresh new batch of ideas, playing with the iconic case to present another beautifully designed piece in the form of the Admiral 45 Squelette. It’s almost impossible not to let out a low whistle of appreciation when presented with the 45mm timepiece, as the emblematic case bears a skeletonised dial and an exposed date ring that grabs most of the attention. The entire rotating date disc has been skeletonised to show off each enlarged Arabic numeral, with the present date aligned at the 6 o’clock window. Easily filling the space between the Calibre CO 082 automatic movement and hour indicators, we have to applaud the ingenious engineering that satisfies both design and function. The application of the Corum name and logo on the inside of the sapphire crystal also adds a nice depth to the titanium timepiece. Despite the intricate face, the Admiral 45 Squelette is a simple threehander with date function that runs for a comfortable 42 hours. An indication of the Admiral collection’s move in a sportier direction, the date disc is available in turquoise blue, yellow or red. Depending on the model, these bright hues are duplicated on the seconds hand, case, rubber bracelet and date aperture of the seven distinct iterations, each limited to 288 pieces.
