CHOPARD L.U.C ALL-IN-ONE
Two faces and 14 indications – say hello to the L.U.C All-in-One watch by Chopard. This isn’t the first time that the grand complication has made an appearance, though, debuting in 2010 as a commemorative limited edition for Chopard’s 150th anniversary. In 2018, it returns in two iterations of platinum and 18K rose gold, limited to 10 pieces each. The platinum case frames a grey blue dial, while the rose gold piece has a verdigris face that gives it a beautifully aged look. Despite being laden with a myriad of complications, including a tourbillon, perpetual calendar and astronomical indications, the 46mm timepiece still beguiles sophistication as only a Chopard piece can. Arrowhead batons on the gold dial complements the signature L.U.C. sunburst guilloche. Emanating from the 12 o’ clock date window, it radiates brightly around the tourbillon encircled by small seconds, perpetual calendar with 24 hour and day indication, display of the month and leap year subdial, as well as the central display of hours and minutes. The sub dials all have a snailed motif and the collage is framed by a silvered minute track. That’s not all, though, turning the mechanical watch over reveals a display of the equation of time, an indicator for the watch’s spectacular seven-day power reserve, 24-hour day/night indication, sunrise and sunset times (set to Geneva), and a breathtaking astronomical orbital moon phase in the middle of it all. Yes, the amount of complications in this watch is indeed staggering, but it’s no challenge for the Poinçon de Genève and COSCcertified L.U.C Calibre 05.01-L mechanical movement.
