Hublot Big Bang MP-11
Ever since it debuted its first watch in a sapphire case, Hublot has continuously worked to master its control over this material and this year’s Big Bang MP-11 proves that it has. Not only does Hublot offer a full sapphire case for the new Big Bang MP-11, it also has a crystal that bulges over the power reserve indicator, creating a loupe effect over the power reserve indicator.
In addition to the sapphire case, Hublot also offers a variant of the MP-11 that comes in a 3D printed carbon case, actually a polymer matrix composite reinforced by three-dimensional weave. What this means aesthetically is that the carbon case has unique facets and reflections, and even a smoke-like pattern on the side.
The element that ties both these watches together is the movement with its unique multi-cylindrical construction of seven series-coupled barrels for a power reserve of an astounding two weeks. As another unique feature of this innovative calibre, the balance is transposed to the dial side to create symmetry with the helical gear. Vibrating at 4Hz, it also features a newly patented indexassembly system.
