Pushing the boundaries of watchmaking sophistication once again, Zenith now presents the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar in a striking new rose gold version. This update to the celebrated 2024 re-release of the iconic model blends the timeless elegance of black with the warmth of 18-carat rose gold, creating a perfect balance of style, functionality, and technical excellence.
A Legend Enhanced
Originally introduced in 1970 as part of the legendary El Primero collection, the triple calendar chronograph is one of Zenith’s most emblematic designs. It was conceived to accommodate both a full calendar and a moon phase function alongside the high-frequency chronograph that the El Primero movement is renowned for.
The design’s return in 2024, within a compact 38mm case, paid homage to the original 1969 A386 model. However, it is now presented in a more modern guise, combining historical features with contemporary refinement.
The Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar is a true testament to Zenith’s horological prowess. Its dial offers an intuitive display of the full calendar, with apertures for the day of the week and month positioned at 11 o’clock and 2 o’clock, respectively.
The date is shown at 4:30, while the moon phase takes its place in the chronograph register at 6 o’clock. These elements are seamlessly integrated into the El Primero chronograph layout, resulting in a harmonious and legible design.
Stunning Contrast
Now reimagined in rose gold with a sleek black dial, the watch exudes an unparalleled elegance. The contrast between the deep black dial and the warm glow of the rose gold case is mirrored in the chronograph counters, 1/10th of a second chapter ring, and the dial’s indices and hands. The use of SuperLuminova SLN C1 enhances legibility, ensuring that the timepiece remains readable even in low light.
Powering the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar is the automatic El Primero 3610 calibre. This advanced movement incorporates the ability to measure 1/10th of a second with remarkable precision, using a chronograph seconds hand that completes a full revolution every 10 seconds.
Despite the addition of the full calendar mechanism, the movement boasts an impressive 60-hour power reserve. Through the sapphire case back, enthusiasts can admire the movement’s intricate architecture, including a blue column wheel and an open rotor emblazoned with Zenith‘s signature five-pointed star.
The timepiece is secured by a black calfskin strap with an 18-carat rose gold folding clasp.
