Known for its exceptional watch cabinets that are winders, safes and veritable art pieces all at the same time, Buben & Zorweg is one of the leading names in this arena. Now, it introduces its first pieces born of a partnership with esteemed French carmaker Bugatti.
Bugatti’s Chiron Super Sport 300+, the first vehicle to break the 300m/h barrier with a speed of 304m/h (490km/h), serves as the inspiration for the first Buben & Zorweg for Bugatti designs. The collection comprises three key models — the Illusion table safe, the Spirit watch winder (for four or eight watches), and the piece de resistance, the Grande Illusion multifunctional safe. Each of these come in either of two finishes: the Chiron 300+ pieces feature a black and orange colour palette, while the French Racing pieces are characterised by the French racing blue that’s also a Bugatti signature.
Weighing a reassuring 215 kg (we’d like to see your average burglar try to move that), the Grande Illusion Chiron 300+ is a tall safe with a special lifting mechanism. After it is unlocked, either via a biometric fingerprint sensor or a transponder chip, the safe and its contents smoothly slide upwards. The embossed column can hold valuables ranging from watches to jewellery — and buyers can also choose to have a radio frequency-shielded car key drawer installed in it. Topping it all off, literally, is the Buben & Zorweg Flying Minute Tourbillon Clock.
Says Bugatti president Stephan Winkelmann: “Bugatti must always offer the extraordinary and exceed even the wildest dreams. We also expect this from our partners. We are convinced that Buben & Zorweg also meets these demands with every masterpiece of the cooperation, dubbed Buben & Zorweg for Bugatti, in an exciting way.”
