TAG Heuer’s Autavia Gives A Nod To The Past As It Races Into The Future

Having started out as a dashboard timer for cars and aircraft in the early 20th century, TAG Heuer’s Autavia – its name a portmanteau of the words automobile and aviation – redefined itself as a chronograph in the 1960s with a bezel designed by Jack Heuer himself. The latest incarnation of the Autavia, a 42mm three-hand version in either stainless steel or bronze, was launched at Baselworld last year. Powered by the COSCcertified automatic-winding Calibre 5 Chronometer, the engraved caseback of the new Autavia features a tyre and propeller.
