Girard-Perregaux
As far as directions go, this year Girard-Perregaux (after celebrating their 225th anniversary in 2016) aims to modernise their collections and the way the heralded this change was with an incredible display of savoire-faire. They combined the minute repeater with a tri-axial tourbillon for a watch that not only looks impressive but sounds fantastic as well. The hour and minute indicators have been split into two subdials made of transparent discs and the boxed sapphire crystal offers an unbridled view of the complex movement. Even the sapphire crystal caseback was curved to there is a real sense of space and dimension to the watch.
