Rolex has had a longstanding relationship with golf for almost 60 years. The Swiss watchmaker’s association with the game dates back to 1967 when Arnold Palmer, joined by close friends and fellow members of The Big Three, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, became Rolex’s first golf Testimonees.
Since then, Rolex’s involvement in golf has expanded significantly. The brand has extended its support to every level of the game – championing both elite and amateur players, governing bodies and some of the most prestigious events on the golfing calendar such as The Masters Tournament.
One of the most significant events in the game, The Masters will return to the hallowed grounds of Augusta National Golf Club from April 10-13, 2025. Known for its immaculate course and rich history, the tournament is the first of the men’s major championships each year, drawing players and fans to witness the drama unfold. This year marks the 89th edition of the Masters, and with it, Rolex’s long-established partnership with the tournament, which dates back to 1999.
Quest For The Green Jacket

As a proud Tournament Partner, Rolex is celebrating three significant anniversaries at the 2025 Masters. It has been a decade since Jordan Spieth claimed his first Green Jacket in 2015, 20 years since Tiger Woods won his fourth Masters in 2005—highlighted by his iconic chip-in on the 16th hole—and 40 years since Bernhard Langer won his first Masters title in 1985.
Langer’s journey at Augusta has been nothing short of remarkable, with 40 appearances at the tournament, including 10 Ryder Cup appearances for Europe. He capped off a stellar career by captaining Europe to victory in the 2004 Ryder Cup.
Spieth, reflecting on his first major victory, expressed the deep emotional connection players have with the Masters. “My first major win is probably my most special memory,” he said. “It was always my dream growing up to win major championships and the Masters has always been my favourite.” Spieth’s win in 2015 cemented his place in golf history, and his admiration for Augusta National’s unique atmosphere and history continues to resonate with him.

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods, whose career has been intertwined with the Masters, still stands as one of the tournament’s most iconic figures. His legendary victories have left an indelible mark on the game, and his journey continues to inspire golfers worldwide.
All To Play For

Rolex’s connection to the Masters represents the pursuit of excellence, with winners earning a lifetime invitation to the tournament. As the 2025 Masters unfolds, players like Scottie Scheffler, the 2024 champion, return to defend their titles, while emerging talents such as Ludvig Åberg and Viktor Hovland aim for their first major victory.
All eyes are on Scheffler, the 2024 Masters champion as he returns to Augusta in 2025 with a chance to defend his title and join the ranks of golf legends like Jack Nicklaus. Scheffler’s dominant 2024 season saw him win seven times on the PGA TOUR, becoming the first player to do so since Woods in 2007, and claiming the FedEx Cup title. Reflecting on his triumph at Augusta, Scheffler said, “Since it’s the Masters, there’s always something special about it… You just dream of getting a chance to play in that Tournament and to have an opportunity to win it.”
If Scheffler secures a third victory, he will join an elite club of players to win the prestigious event three times in four years, a feat that solidifies his place in Masters lore.
Rolex’s Enduring Commitment to Golf
Beyond the main event, Rolex continues to support the development of the game through its involvement with amateur championships. The Augusta National Women’s Amateur, inaugurated in 2019, provides a platform for the best female amateur golfers in the world.
Last year, Rose Zhang triumphed at the event before turning professional and claiming victories on the LPGA Tour. The Masters also lends its support to the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship and the Latin America Amateur Championship, reinforcing its global impact.
As the 2025 Masters unfolds, the blend of history, legacy, and future potential will be on full display, with Rolex continuing to stand as a symbol of timeless quality and a steadfast partner in the pursuit the greatest achievements in golf.
