It’s been said that, to live life to the fullest, one must find the courage to venture into uncharted territory even if the future holds no guarantees. To commemorate this innate sense of wanderlust, Swiss watchmaker Oris has released two new timepieces that will inspire adventure-seekers to brave the elements and explore what the world has to offer.
The first in line is the PA Charles de Gaulle Oris, a limited edition tribute timepiece created to honour the crew of the French Navy’s flagship aircraft carrier named after the legendary French general and president. Based on the original Big Crown model from 1938, this spirited collaboration presents a 40mm case in stainless steel paired with a black dial displaying Super-LumiNova numerals and hour markers, as well as the aircraft carrier’s insignia. Powering the watch is the Oris Calibre 754, an automatic mechanical movement with a pointer date that is indicated by the central hand with a red crescent tip that points to a scale running around the outside of the dial. Limited to 1,890 pieces, each watch includes an image of the ship on the caseback.
