The year 2017 marks a great milestone for Omega as the Swiss watchmaker celebrates the 60th anniversary of its iconic Speedmaster collection. To mark the timekeeper’s rich history, Omega turns to the complex and nuanced flavours of coffee to brew up the stunning Speedmaster 38mm “Cappuccinoâ€. Despite it being a ladies wristwatch, the Cappuccino features a handsome colour scheme that harkens to, well, a cappuccino.
A trio of cappuccino-coloured oval sub dials dot the cream dial that’s circled by a coffee-brown tachymeter scale and paired with a hand-stitched taupe-brown leather strap. The warmth of the drink is also embodied by the use of 18K Sedna gold to fashion the hands, markers and bezel that’s paved with diamonds for a dash of brilliance. You’ll get a taste of the powerful Omega Calibre 3330 self-winding movement that features a columnwheel mechanism and Co-Axial escapement. This COSC-certified chronometer operates the Cappuccino’s timekeeping, date and chronograph functions for 52 hours.
FUN FACT: Can you believe the Omega Speedmaster has been keeping the world up to speed for six decades? Since its introduction in 1957, Speedy (as it’s fondly called by admirers) soon blossomed into an icon in the world of horology – firmly wrapped around the wrists of NASA astronauts as they break into the final frontier.
