The newest venture and brainchild of Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, co-president of Chopard and president & CEO of La Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud, is a brand new watchmaking gallery and boutique, Art In Time.
Located in the prestigious, new One Monte-Carlo complex in Monaco, Art In Time brings together multiple niche watch houses under one roof. According to Scheufele, Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud has opened the doors to niche brands for me houses promoting innovative watchmaking, headed up by passionate people with whom we clearly share the same values. Art In Time will enable us to raise our profile together among collectors and the general public, more particularly on the French Riviera, where these maisons were not previously represented.
Brought together by shared values and passion when it comes to watchmaking, and a shared founding inspiration of independence, creativity and exclusivity, the eight brands currently on showcase in Art of Time’s gallery presents quintessential watchmaking and some of the finest watches available in the market today all in one place.
“The ethos of Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud, just like that of Chopard, is rooted in a respect for Fine Watchmaking. As custodians of this heritage, we seek to promote its values. The maisons in Art In Time are all motivated by the same deeply-held convictions, each in their own distinctive fashion,” Scheufele explains.
The eight brands under the Art In Time banner are Ferdinand Berthoud, Chopard, Greubel Forsey, MB&F, Ressence, Florian Schlumpf and Urwerk, of which select timepieces and creations from each house will be on display in the minimalist gallery. Specially designed so as to allow each timepiece the space and shine, the gallery is devoid of superfluous furnishings and decor, and even the house logos are designed to blend into the surrounds, so that the focus of attention is always on the exceptional timepieces on display.
