The recently concluded 76th Venice International Film Festival, which ran from 28 August to 7 September 2019, saw many stars of the film industry grace the red carpet of the Mostra. However, not all of the stars present were famous celebrities. In fact, Jaeger-LeCoultre took the opportunity to the new edition of the Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Céleste.
Bringing the brilliance of a star-studded night sky down is no easy feat but just as the best films redefine everyday experiences, Jaeger-LeCoultre manages to offer a different perspective on time itself.

For example, the orbital flying tourbillon makes a complete turn of the dial over the course of 23 hours, 56 minutes and 4 seconds. This unusual time unit is the length of one sidereal day, calculated with reference to the more distant stars instead of the Sun.
Looking at the deep blue dial itself, there is a beautiful depiction of the night sky of the Northern hemisphere, showcasing all the constellations of the zodiac calendar framed by an outer ring displaying their associated symbols.
Apart from that, what sets this model apart from previous versions is its new design. Though the dials are now simplified in terms of its textures and indications there is an additional dimension gained when you view it under low light. All the hour markers and constellations are filled with Super LumiNova, so it evokes an almost heavenly glow representing the heavenly bodies on a clear night.
Enclosed inside the new generation 43mm white-gold case design set by the Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon Westminster Perpétuel, lies the 334-component calibre 946 of the Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Céleste.
In both its mechanical and aesthetic aspects, the Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Céleste takes us beyond the everyday. Limited to just 28 pieces, this is a rare timepiece that captures the rhythms of daily life in parallel with the movements of the universe.
